No matter how convenient NY Family Docs offices are — and there are ten throughout Brooklyn and Queens — you just can’t get to the doctor’s office some days. Now there is an alternative, a TeleHealth visit. During a TeleHealth visit you can talk to a healthcare provider and get the same advice, prescriptions, and guidance as you would at an in-person visit. However, in some cases, depending on your symptoms, it may be necessary to have a follow-up visit in the office for lab tests, an EKG or other test. If this is recommended, you can schedule your office visit at the time of your call.
TeleHealth Visits
Q & A
How do I set up a TeleHealth Visit?
It’s easy. Just call our office and ask to schedule a TeleHealth visit. You will be given an appointment time when you need to be available to speak to a physician or nurse practitioner who will call you. You may also receive a call from our staff prior to your scheduled call to complete some information.
TeleHealth visits will be billed to insurance at the same rate as regular visits. You will be responsible for the same copayments or deductible payments as you would have for a regular office visit. You will be asked to pay any amounts you will owe prior to your scheduled TeleHealth visit. Most insurances are now covering TeleHealth visits; however, we recommend that you contact your insurance company to determine your coverage for this service.
